Bryce’s Pool & Pizza Party

We had fun day on your birthday Bryce! We started the day playing at Wacky Tacky, and ended the day with a pool and pizza party at Grandma and Grandpa Forman’s house. Thankfully Grandma Forman is so good to take pictures, or you wouldn’t have any of your party! Other then biffing at the bottom of the slide and getting scraped up under your eye and on your belly it was a fun party. Hope and Sadie helped you open your presents and you loved everything!

Happy Birthday Bryce!

Dearest sweetheart Bryce,

Happy 2nd Birthday handsome boy! Yesterday you turned two and although it was just another day for you, for Mommy it was a landmark. You are leaving the baby stage and will increase in independence from here on out. You are growing up so, so  fast. On your birthday I tried to savor each little moment with you and file away snapshots of you in my mind. You are a darling boy Bryce. You are active, playful, smiley, giggly, and loving. You love to tease and then laugh about it. You are a lefty. You love music and instruments. You sleep in a toddler bed!  You cannot get enough of cars, balls, animals and when it is just our little family around you won’t stop talking. And how we love your sweet voice! I love when you hug and express affection. I love to push you endlessly on the swing. I love to see you get excited about seeing a horse, dog, cat, or even ant. I love that you run to me calling my name and can’t wait to tell me something. I love your immense excitement to see and your admiration of your Daddy. I love when you bring me a cup and ask if I want cocoa. I love that you run upstairs when we mention a bath or shower. I love your deep blue eyes, and thick lashes that sparkle when you smile. I love to cuddle you when you are upset or cry. I love your obsession with anything electronic and your undying optimism….. These things will likely change with the passing years. While I want you go grow up and gain experience, I do wish I could stop time just for a little bit to savor you right now. You bring all of your dear family so much joy! And you are so special to us all. With all of our hearts and everything we have we love you Bryce!

Christensen Family Reunion 2010

Saturday, June 26, 2010

We had a Christensen family reunion from my Dad’s side of the family. It was at my parent's house and as I type this Hope climbed on my computer chair and after surveying the pictures she said, “Mommy, I had so much fun!”. I am sure that comment was in reference to the reunion. There was a bounce house and obstacle course, a wonderful blow up slip and slide, in addition to carnival type games and massive amounts of food. We really enjoyed visiting with cousins and letting the kids play endlessly. Thankfully our children clad in swim suites all day did not get sunburns (thank you spf 85!) and no one was hurt during the races and while being thrown down the slip’n’slide by Adam and Josh.

just for smiles…..

IMG_2348It seems like overnight my little Brycie-boy grew up. He is losing his baby look and transforming into a little boy. We can’t believe that in just a few days he’ll be 2 years old!

Ethan is 6 months

This month, June 15th to be exact, our little Ethan was officially 6 months. We are so busy juggling everything that I don’t take as many pictures of him as I did the other kids. However, that does not mean we love little Ethan any less!

He is a sweet baby. He continues to smile non-stop. He has a gift of lifting the spirits of most people we come in contact with, family or otherwise through giving them a sweet smile. Although little Ethan is bottle fed, he still loves for Mommy to feed him and will sometimes wait to be fed if Mommy is gone until she gets back. He loves to squeal and laugh at Daddy. His biggest smile of the day is ALWAYS when Daddy comes home from work.  At six months Ethan is already sitting up, and comes onto his hands and knees. He will be crawling soon. He has loved getting new foods to try (fresh pureed blueberries are a favorite), and has two older siblings who constantly beg to hold and feed him. True to Forman tradition he has a few nicknames. (The nickname tradition of course was handed down through our delightful, spunky, and beloved Great-Grandma Forman) We’ll add more and change them over time. For now Ethan is “Turtle” due to his ability to lie flat and protrude his head perfectly vertical like a turtle. And affectionately he has always been “little buddy” (Bryce has claim to “buddy boy” already so Ethan has a slightly different version of buddy)

Couples shower for baby Boston

IMG_0768

The shower for Rachel and Christian turned out to be a really fun night. I spent most of the day juggling kids and food preparations and eventually, I am ashamed to admit, just put a movie on for the kids so that I could get everything ready. I am so glad we did the shower with a dinner and couples. The dinner was scrumptious and was followed by Grandma Cox’s homemade Butterfinger ice cream. I asked for a small bowl and then when my bowl was through I ate Jared’s bowl, too.  Hope and Bryce were thrilled to go Brody and Sadie’s house for the evening and we enjoyed just having little turtle boy Ethan. We were able to see people that we don’t get to visit with very often and mostly we enjoyed a lot of laughs. The husbands were cracking everyone up. Rachel and Christian got a lot of cute outfits and things for baby Boston that they needed, and it was really a fun night for Jared and I. As always I forgot my camera, so here are some pictures that Linda took.

The particular picture at top was Christian joking around with a sign that said “look what I made” . :)  (It actually is used to hang your child’s art projects and creations)

This was a game where a blindfolded spouse fed baby food to his or her counterpart. The one where Christian is cracking up is because the got a good sized spoonful right in the throat and probably was feeling it drip down his shirt. It was fun. They were good sports.

And the highlight was the beautiful quilt made by Grandma Cox. I am sure that Boston will keep that beautiful blanket forever.

Uncle Joe Graduation Party

Tuesday, June 15th

Uncle Joe graduated from High School at a very cool age of 16. He is such a fun Uncle and does so well playing with the three little hoodlums (Hope, Bryce & Savannah) on his own. One of Bryce’s first words was “Joe! Joe!” (sounds like jo-o) He is doing a great job in Uncle Dan’s absence but I am sure he’ll be glad when Uncle Dan can help participate with the fun uncle duties. :)

Anyway we went to Uncle Joe’s Graduation pool party and here are some cute pictures of the kids that Grandma Forman took.
