Ethan’s first solids

Yesterday we gave Ethan his first taste of solid food. He was so ready for it and loved it! We let Hope feed him a little bit and put his high chair up to the table with all of us so everyone could enjoy his messy delight. It was so cute. IMG_2333

The June of all Junes

Well, today is the 14th of June and thus far we have had quite a month. We had Uncle Adam’s graduation party, Hope was sick, Bryce was sick, then Mommy and Ethan were sick. Aunt Mary got married in the Sacramento Temple, the reception, and the next day Mommy was diagnosed with a Sinus infection (probably happened because of stress). And here is what is still left to come in June: Uncle Joe’s graduation party, a Couples baby shower for Aunt Rachel and Uncle Christian, Daddy is speaking in church on Father’s Day, a few doctors appointments, a Christensen family reunion, Bryce’s 2nd Birthday, and Grandpa Christensen is both having a birthday and retiring. WHEW! It has been and is going to be a fun, crazy, busy, busy month. I have to wonder if this is what every month is like when you have lots kids, and older kids. I need to start running so I have energy to keep up with things!

Where are the kiddies?

May 25, 2010

We have had a rainy May. It’s no fun when the daytime is dark and we are stuck inside. On a positive note, it gives the children a chance to be creative with play. While getting my hair done for the day (at 4 in the afternoon….better late then never I always say) they suddenly disappeared. They were squealing with delight to all be playing together. We called this game, “Where are the kiddies”.

Rachel had a 50th birthday party for Linda at her house last Saturday. It was so fun. The kids wrestled all over Uncle Joe, played Uncle Christian’s drums, we ate great food, and watched this priceless DVD that Aunt Lisa compiled of video taken at Dean and Linda’s wedding. We LOVE that Christian and Rachel live so close now, and we can get together all the time. I saw a quote on someone’s blog that said, “A happy family is but an earlier heaven”. Although I didn’t get pictures of the birthday girl, or everyone at the party, it was a night that was relaxed and we enjoyed just being together as a family. When there is lots of love shared between family it does feel like we are enjoying a piece of heaven.

busy, busy, busy

I took this picture of Ethan probably a month ago. Everything seems so hectic right now that I can barely remember to take pictures. Ethan is just so happy all the time. (Except in this picture)  Jared and I aren’t even sure where he gets that from.  Both Mommy and Daddy are more the quiet content people….not the bubbly, smiley, happy all the time folks. Ethan wakes up smiling, smiles non-stop at our family, at the Grandmas in the grocery store, for everyone at church. In fact, if Jared is around he won’t even eat because he just wants to smile at Daddy. One night I put Ethan in bed just a bit before he was ready to be laid down. I was downstairs cleaning up and hear Ethan cooing in the hallway upstairs. I ran up the stairs to find Jared rocking him with a really crabby look on his face. “What’s wrong?” I asked.  “He won’t take a bottle and go to sleep.” Daddy gruffly stated, “He just wants to look at me and smile!”.  I just laughed. It was late. We both had end of the night things to do, and once Ethan saw that it was Daddy holding him, he just wanted to coo and smile. He just makes this world a happier place.

Ethan and Wyatt……

Wyatt Colter DeVilbiss and Ethan William Forman

Sweet little cousins. Ethan is 5 months, Wyatt is 4 months and they are so cute. They just laid on a blanket at Grandma and Grandpa Christensen’s house on Saturday and cooed at each other. I hope one day they’ll be close cousins. :) We had a GREAT time at my parents house celebrating Mother’s Day and I am really excited to have some of my siblings back in the area for the summer. Their is nothing better than family!
